The end is in sight - SPRING is on its way!!!

Today it's warm and cloudy with a strong wind blowing, which is really helping the snow to melt. At midday it's 11ºC which is the first time it's gotten to double digits this year. According to the weather report, it's going to snow again at the weekend, but we know the end is in sight now.
Absolutely no snow at all here. (On my side of the road, anyway!)
Look! GRASS! Most exciting. Can't stand on it yet, it's way too soggy but it's visible!
I chucked more snow off the heap by the wall into the road to melt. The snow has completely gone from the bike shed roof now.
I'm also chucking snow off the garden. In both cases I have to remember not to put the spade too deep because I don't want to lop off the tops of the bulbs that are all sprouting under the snow.
The trees are getting quite big circles round them.
This is the best photo of the lot! Just by the lattice next to our front door, there is a tiny bit of totally clear ground, and the crocuses I planted last autumn are coming up! Such a thrill!
On the other side of the lattice the primulas are now uncovered and their leaves are already green and starting to unfurl.
A slightly bigger view so you can see the extent of the snow melt. It amazes me that the plants come out from under the snow already green and ready to go. How do they know?? You can see why we have to be careful about shoveling.
The road is now completely dry except for the stuff I chucked off that is melting apace. My back got tired so I came in for a break but I will be out there again in a little while. I want the snow GONE GONE GONE!!!!!

One of my dad's neighbours in northern British Columbia used to get so impatient to be rid of his snow (in April, winters there are long too!) that he'd be out with his hair dryer on an extension cord... And his lawn was HUGE!

I love how your grass is already a tinge green. We've been able to see ours all winter and there is still no green insight, well other than the weeds!!!

...and my crocuses didn't bloom this year : ( but I have lots of bulbs out including lots of the anemones I planted last year but I fear todays winds are going to reap havock on the spring garden

Oh and I love the new header (sorry I read through a reader on my phone)
